Services
The Environmental Engineering/Policy Program conducts enforcement inspections, evaluations, and consultations regarding issues that affect public health and preserve the quality of the county's air, land, and waters. Environmental Health Specialists ensure sanitary installations of private wells and on-site sewage disposal systems. We also perform swimming pool inspections and respond to complaints related to environmental insults such as lead, asbestos, petroleum products, suspicious smoke and odors, smoking in public spaces, and rodents.
Health Impact Assessments
The Program also conducts Health Impact Assessments for all development projects in Prince George’s County submitted to the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission.
