Summer Youth Enrichment Program
The Summer Youth Enrichment Program (SYEP) offers County youth and young adults ages 14 to 24 with enriching and constructive summer work experiences in community organizations, private sector companies, and government agencies.
We strive to provide young people with the opportunity to:
- Learn new job skills while working
- Experience professional development opportunities
- Gain exposure to a diverse range of careers
- Participate in job readiness training
- Network with industry leaders
- Build positive working relationships
- Earn pay for meaningful and rewarding work experiences
This year's program runs from July 1 until August 8, 2025.
Get Prepared
Follow these steps to help you prepare for the application process and future job opportunities.
- Set up a professional email address.
- Gather your personal information (Social Security Number, Date of Birth, Home Address, Emergency Contact).
- Open a bank account and organize your payment information.
- Identify the types of jobs or career fields that interest you most.
- Set up a professional voicemail greeting and ensure your phone can receive messages.
- Create a resume that highlights your accomplishments.

How to Apply
Applications for summer job opportunities were accepted from March 1-March 31.
Notice: Limited opportunities are available. Candidates are selected based on a random lottery system and not all who apply are able to be selected.

- How old will you be on July 1, 2025? Select the application for your age group between March 1-March 31
- Create a NEOGOV username and password (How to Create a NEOGOV Account)
- Tip: document your username and password in a password keeper for future reference
- Complete each screen on the application in its entirety
- Certify your information is accurate and true to the best of your knowledge
- Submit your application by March 31, 2025, at 11:59 pm
- You will receive confirmation of your submitted application in your email
For those ages 18 -24, we encourage you to attach a copy of your resume and other documents, such as licenses, awards, and/or certificates.
Selection Process
Eligible SYEP candidates will be entered into a random lottery to receive an offer for an employment assignment. Employment assignment offers will continue to be extended to randomly selected eligible youth until all positions are filled. A host site may request former participants who have demonstrated exemplary performance.
