The Alcohol & Drug Prevention Program helps people in our county understand why it's not a good idea to use alcohol and drugs. They teach residents, schools, and community groups about the problems and dangers linked to using these substances.
Services
The Alcohol & Drug Prevention Program offers the following services and programs:
- National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
This event aims to prevent overdoses by providing a drive-thru drop-off for the safe disposal of unused or unwanted medications, vapes, and electronic smoking devices. It is held twice a year on the last Saturday of April and October. Year-round drop boxes for safe disposal are also available. - Dare to Be You Program
This helps families with kids aged three to five learn about not using drugs. - Strengthening Families Program
An initiative aimed at promoting healthy families while reducing the likelihood of child abuse and neglect. - Naloxone Outreach Education
Naloxone outreach education provides important training on how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and provide aid to someone in danger. - Communities That Care Program
A program tailored to reducing delinquency and substance use among adolescents.
Works to stop teenagers from doing things they shouldn’t, like using drugs or getting into trouble. - Youth Ambassadors Training
This training brings high school students and adults together to understand and respect each other. - Annual Alcohol and Drugs Public Awareness Campaigns
Ongoing campaigns designed to raise public awareness about alcohol and drugs.
