Training Details
A free five-course curriculum approved by the Maryland Addiction & Behavioral-Health Professionals Certification Board.
Who Can Apply?
- County residents, age 18+
- At least 2 years of recovery from a substance use/co-occurring disorder, or successful reentry
Courses Offered
- Ethics for Peer Recovery Specialists
- Advocacy for Peer Recovery Specialists
- Recovery & Wellness for Peer Recovery Specialists
- Mentoring & Education for Peer Recovery Specialists
- Harm Reduction for Peer Recovery Specialists
Training Requirements
Each session includes one to three in-person days (50 hours total). To receive certification, you must attend all five courses within two years.
