Due to COVID-19 precautions, Prince George’s County Vital Records services are suspended through March, 31st. Starting April 1st, the Vital Records office will be on a modified schedule and will open Tuesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to process death requests.
Additionally, the County’s Vital Records Birth Certificate requests are suspended until further notice at the Health Department’s location at 425 Brightseat Road, Hyattsville MD 20785. All Birth Certificate requests can be placed with the Baltimore Vital Records office over the phone, internet or by mail. To access the application, visit www.vitalchek.com.
The Prince George’s County Health Department issues birth certificates for anyone born in the State of Maryland AFTER 1939 and issues death certificates for individuals who died in Maryland AFTER 2015.
Individuals born prior to 1939 and who died prior to 2015 should contact the Maryland Department of Health's Vital Statistics Administration at 410-764-3038.
