Prince George's County Provides FREE and Convenient Disposal Options for Residents

Illegal dumping harms neighborhoods, poses public health risks, attracts pests, and costs taxpayers thousands of dollars in cleanup costs each year. The good news is that there is no need to dump illegally in Prince George's County, as residents have access to numerous free or low-cost disposal and recycling resources that make it easy to dispose of unwanted materials properly and to help keep neighborhoods clean, safe, and beautiful.

Residential Drop-Off Facilities

Brown Station Road Residential Drop-Off Convenience Center 
  • Address: 3501 Brown Station Road, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774
  • Hours of Operation: Monday–Saturday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM; Closed Sundays and County holidays.

Residents may dispose of:

  • Household trash
  • Single-stream recyclables
  • Cardboard
  • Large rigid plastics
  • Metal items
  • Auto batteries
  • Motor oil and antifreeze
  • Used cooking oil
  • Electronics (computers, laptops, tablets, etc.)
  • Yard trim (grass, leaves, brush, and small limbs)
  • Up to five passenger vehicle tires
  • Furniture and bulky household items
  • Durable medical equipment, including walkers, wheelchairs, hospital beds, and potty chairs
Missouri Avenue Residential Drop-Off Convenience Center
  • Address: 12701 Missouri Avenue, Brandywine, MD 20613
  • Hours of Operation: Monday–Saturday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM; Closed Sundays and County holidays.

Residents may dispose of:

  • Household trash
  • Single-stream recyclables
  • Cardboard
  • Large rigid plastics
  • Motor oil and antifreeze
Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill
  • Address: 3501 Brown Station Road, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774
  • Hours of Operation: Monday–Saturday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM; Closed Sundays and County holidays.

Prince George's County homeowners may dispose of one pickup-truck load or one trailer load of residential construction and demolition debris per year at no charge. Material must be delivered by a non-commercial or non-modified pickup load or trailer and delivered by the property owner.

Requirements include:

  • Proof of Prince George's County residency
  • Non-commercial vehicles only
  • Maximum trailer size of 4 feet x 8 feet; sides of trailer cannot exceed 2 feet in height
  • Loads must not exceed the vehicle or trailer sidewalls
County Collection Services/DoE 
  • Schedule electronics and scrap metal collection through PGC311.
  • Schedule scrap tire collection through PGC311.
  • Schedule white goods/appliance collection through PGC311.
  • Residents receiving County-contracted trash service may place up to four bulky items or four tightly secured bags with small household items at the curb on their regular collection day.
  • Residents without County-contracted trash service may request bulky item collection through PGC311.
  • The County provides weekly curbside collection of trash, recycling, yard trim, and food scraps to approximately 182,000 households.
DoE Special Collection Events
  • DoE/Sustainable Waste Management Division (SWMD) holds monthly household hazardous waste and electronics collection community events.
  • DoE/SWMD holds periodic shredding events for sensitive documents.

Important Resident Reminders

  • Proof of Prince George's County residency may be required at disposal facilities. 
  • Household hazardous waste should never be placed in trash or recycling carts. 
  • Trailers are prohibited at convenience centers and must use approved landfill/organics facilities. 
  • Residents can also report illegal dumping or missed collections through PGC311.
