Prince George's County Announces Holiday Closings for Native American Day

LARGO, MD – The following Department of the Environment offices, services, and facilities will be closed or suspended on Monday, October 12, 2026:

Regular collections occur Tuesday, October 13, through Friday, October 16
Curbside Electronics Recycling Collection (By appointment only) Available every third Monday

Curbside Scrap Metal Collection (By appointment only) Available every third Monday
Curbside Trash Collection in County-Contracted Areas Regular collections occur Tuesday, October 13, through Friday, October 16
Residential Food Scraps and Yard Trim Collections Regular collections occur on Monday, October 12

GoPGC (formerly known as TheBus), a public transit service operated by the Prince George's County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T), will operate on Monday, October 12, 2026, except for Route P78, which will not run. +PLUS (formerly Call-A-Bus), including dialysis transportation, will not operate on Monday, October 12, 2026. Regular operations will resume on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.  

The Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE) will be closed on Monday, October 12, 2026. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

Also, PGC311 will be closed on Monday, October 12, 2026, and will resume regular operations on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online at PGC311.com.
