Take A Furry Foto
Let's get social for Adopt a Shelter Pet Day on April 30 in honor of Earth Month. Take a picture of your furry, feathery, or scaly rescued pet(s) and share with the hashtags #PGCEarthDayEveryDay and #AdoptDontShop. "Fotos" sent via email must be received by April 21 at doecomms@co.pg.md.us.
Mulch Madness
Grab your shovels, picks, trash bins, and other containers and head to the free Mulch Madness event on Saturday, April 18, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The annual event occurs at the Prince George's County Organics Composting Facility in Upper Marlboro. FREE Electronics Recycling and Household Hazardous Waste Mobile Event
The next FREE E-Waste & Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) event will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Accokeek Library, 15773 Livingston Road, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held rain or shine. The event is open to County residents only (ID may be required).

Drive-Thru Dog & Cat Vaccination Clinics
The Prince George's County Animal Shelter is hosting a series of Drive-up Dog and Cat Vaccination Clinics throughout the year at the Prince George's County Animal Services and Adoption Facility, located at 3750 Brown Station Road, Upper Marlboro, MD 20770.
This event offers rabies vaccinations and microchipping services for Prince George's County residents at a feww of $20 (cash only). Please bring proof of residency. There is a limit of two pets per vehicle.

The Prince George's County Animal Services & Adoption Center is partnering with various community stakeholders in April to host pet adoption events.
