Climate Resilience
Prince George’s County is experiencing more frequent and intense climate hazards—flooding, extreme heat, and severe storms—that threaten public health, infrastructure, and livelihoods. Our Climate Resilience programs help communities prepare, respond, and recover while improving quality of life every day.
Key Initiatives
Climate Resilience Hubs: Trusted community spaces equipped with resources like backup power, cooling or heating, food storage, and information during disruptions.
Resilient Infrastructure Updates: Modernizing planning, zoning, and building codes to withstand future climate impacts.
Funding & Technical Assistance: Grants and support for community-based organizations to develop resilience projects.
Why It Matters
By proactively investing in resilience, we reduce risks, protect vulnerable residents, and keep our neighborhoods strong in the face of climate change.
Get Involved: Partner with us, host a resilience workshop, or apply for a Resilience Hub grant.
