Prince George’s County Waste Collection and Animal Services Facilities to Close to the Public on Monday, January 26 Due to Weather and Road Conditions

LARGO, MD — Due to continued hazardous weather and unsafe road conditions, and in the interest of public and staff safety, the Prince George's County Department of the Environment (DoE) announces that the following facilities will be closed to the public on Monday, January 26, 2026:

  • Animal Services Facility and Adoption Center (Upper Marlboro)
  • Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill (Upper Marlboro)
  • Brown Station Road Residential Drop-off Convenience Center (Upper Marlboro)
  • Missouri Avenue Drop-off Convenience Center (Brandywine)
  • Prince George's County Organics Composting Facility (Upper Marlboro)
  • Prince George's County Materials Recycling Facility (Capitol Heights)

Residents are encouraged to visit mypgc.us for the latest updates on facility closures, reopening schedules, and winter weather service alerts.

Residents may also sign up for Alert Prince George's at alert.mypgc.us to receive emergency and weather-related notifications by text message, phone call, or email.

For additional information related to winter weather events or County services, residents may contact PGC311 between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, or submit a service request online at PGC311.com.
