Prince George’s County Suspends Waste Collection Services for Tuesday, January 27, 2026
LARGO, MD – Due to continued hazardous weather and road-related conditions, the Prince George’s County Department of the Environment has suspended all curbside bulky trash, regular trash, and recycling collections for Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
As a result of Tuesday's suspension, the County will move to a slide schedule for the remainder of the week, pending any further delays due to weather or road conditions, in accordance with the County’s inclement weather policy. All scheduled bulky collections are suspended and will be rescheduled.
Residents receiving County-contracted waste collection service are advised not to place carts or bulky trash items at the curb to allow snowplows to safely operate and clear roadways.
If you reside in a municipality or receive service from a private waste hauler, you should contact your respective offices directly for guidance on winter weather collection schedules.
Please note: Once waste collections resume, collections may be delayed or suspended in specific areas of the County due to road or weather conditions to protect the safety of residents and crews. The County appreciates residents’ understanding and patience during these circumstances.
Services at the County's waste collection facilities will be on a delayed opening on Tuesday, January 27, opening at 10:00 a.m. due to weather conditions, including:
- Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill (Upper Marlboro)
- Brown Station Road Public Drop-off Convenience Center (Upper Marlboro),
- Scrap tire and appliance disposal sites (Upper Marlboro)
- Prince George’s County Materials Recycling Facility (Upper Marlboro),
- Prince George’s County Organics Composting Facility (Upper Marlboro)
The following waste collection facility will open on time at 10 a.m.
