Prince George's County Celebrates the 11th annual Green Festival on Saturday, October 11

LARGO, MD – The Prince George's County Department of the Environment (DoE), in partnership with the City of Hyattsville, will host the 11th Annual Green Festival (formerly the Green Summit) on Saturday, October 11, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the David C. Driskell Community Park, located at 3911 Hamilton Street in Hyattsville.

This free, family-friendly event celebrates sustainability with interactive exhibits, demonstrations, workshops, and fun activities for all ages. This year's festival features an expanded Pet Pavilion – Pawchella, where residents can enjoy pet-friendly activities, meet local pet exhibitors, and receive services such as free pet adoptions, licensing, and microchipping.

“The Green Festival exemplifies County Executive Aisha N. Braveboy's Project Elevate initiative, which focuses on the beautification and revitalization of our County,” said Dr. Samuel Moki, Acting Director of DoE. “The Green Festival promotes environmental stewardship and provides valuable resources to help make our community a cleaner, healthier, and more vibrant place to live, work, and play."

Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with County agencies, including the Department of the Environment, Department of Public Works and Transportation, and other County agencies, non-profits and organizations, and vendors to learn more about creating healthy and sustainable communities.

Additional highlights include an electric vehicle showcase, animal ambassadors, face painting, bubble entertainment, pet adoption opportunities, and much more. 

Food trucks will also be on-site, offering a variety of delicious options for purchase.
