Prince George's County Announces Holiday Closings for Independence Day

Largo, MD – The following Prince George's County Department of the Environment (DoE) offices, services, and facilities will be closed or suspended on Friday, July 3, 2025, in observance of the Independence Day holiday. NOTE: All DoE offices, services, and facilities will be closed on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

Residential Food Scraps and Yard Trim Collections Regular collections occur on Monday, June 29

TheBus, a public transit service operated by the Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T), will operate on Friday, July 3, 2026. However, Route P78 will not operate due to the Courthouse being closed. In addition, all fixed-route transit, Call-A-Bus, and PGC Link microtransit services, including dialysis transportation, will not operate on Friday, July 3, 2026, and will resume on Monday, July 6, 2026.  Regular operations of the TheBus, Call-A-Bus, and PGC Link microtransit services will not operate on Saturday, July 4, 2026. Regular Sunday services will resume on Sunday, July 5, 2026.

The Prince George's County Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE) will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026. Regular business hours will resume on Monday, July 6, 2026.

 Also, PGC311 will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026, and will resume regular operations on Monday, July 6, 2026, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online at PGC311.com.
