Accelerating Climate Action Through Interagency Partnerships: Mapping Heat Islands to Improve Equity, Health and Environmental Outcomes

This session highlights how heat-island mapping is transforming climate action in Prince George’s County through cross-agency collaboration. Panelists from DoE, the Health Department, and DPW&T will show how each agency uses this shared data for different but complementary purposes, demonstrating how coordinated efforts reduce duplication, maximize resources, and accelerate implementation. The discussion will also examine current gaps in data collection, emerging needs for new datasets, and future opportunities to expand the use of heat-mapping tools to guide investments and strengthen resilience across the County.
