Dr. Toyin Opesanmi

Dr. Toyin Opesanmi is an experienced family medicine physician with specialized expertise in treating individuals diagnosed with HIV and in addiction medicine. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1998, following her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1987.

Dr. Opesanmi completed her family practice residency at the University of Texas Health Center in Tyler, TX. She has dedicated her career to improving health outcomes in diverse communities, holding prominent positions in private practice, including serving as a chief provider at Gennesaret Medical Center and Global Vision Community Health Center, where she treated patients of all ages with a range of health issues, including substance use disorders and infectious diseases.

As a certified Buprenorphine prescriber, Dr. Opesanmi is committed to promoting recovery and managing chronic health conditions through innovative solutions and collaborative care. With a proven record of effective health management, she is well-prepared to lead as the new Health Officer, driving initiatives to enhance public health and well-being in our community. We fully support her leadership and guidance in our efforts to ensure that all Prince Georgians are at their healthiest at every age and at every stage.
