Arts and Entertainment District

The Arts and Entertainment District Property Tax Credit encourages investment in qualifying properties located within the Prince George's County Arts & Entertainment District by providing a County property tax credit for eligible improvements made for qualifying residing artists and arts and entertainment enterprises.

The credit applies to eligible manufacturing, commercial, or industrial buildings that are constructed or renovated for qualifying use within the designated Arts & Entertainment District.

Credit Amount

The property tax credit is based on the increased assessed value resulting from the construction or renovation of the property and is available for up to five (5) years according to the following schedule:

  • Year 1: 100%
  • Year 2: 80%
  • Year 3: 60%
  • Year 4: 40%
  • Year 5: 20%

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Arts & Entertainment District Property Tax Credit:

  • The property must be located within the Prince George's County Arts & Entertainment District.
  • The property must be a manufacturing, commercial, or industrial building.
  • The building must be wholly or partially constructed or renovated for use by:
    • A qualifying residing artist; or
    • An arts and entertainment enterprise.
  • The tax credit applies only to the increase in assessed property value resulting from the eligible construction or renovation.

  • Qualifying residing artists
  • Arts and entertainment enterprises

Credit Duration

The Arts & Entertainment District Property Tax Credit may be granted for a maximum of five (5) consecutive tax years.
