Elderly Property Tax Credit

Program Status

Effective June 30, 2025, the Elderly Property Tax Credit is suspended.

The Elderly Property Tax Credit, originally established by Council Bill CB-29-2022 and subsequently amended by Council Bill CB-007-2024 (Draft 2), has been suspended pursuant to Council Resolution CR-008-2025.

The Prince George's County Council adopted CR-008-2025 on February 11, 2025, to allow the Acting County Executive and the County Council to work collaboratively to address implementation challenges identified with CB-007-2024.

As a result, the County is not accepting applications for this tax credit while the suspension remains in effect.
