Voter Registration Volunteers
Voter Registration Volunteers (VRV’s) are individuals who volunteer their time to offer people the opportunity to register to vote, distribute voter registration applications at outreach events, assist people with completing voter registration applications, and they return completed applications to the local Board of Elections.
In order to qualify to become a VRV, you must be at least 18 years of age, receive training on how to complete Maryland's Voter Registration Application and must be able to perform the required duties in a non-partisan manner. At the conclusion of the training, you will need to sign an affidavit. After doing so, you’ll receive a certificate that will identify you as a VRV. The certification is valid for two (2) years from date of training and re-certification will be required.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Prince George’s County Board of Elections (PGCBOE) is offering virtual training. Virtual training will be conducted at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday-Friday. In person training is offered to individuals (no more than two people) during the hours of 9 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., on Monday-Friday. At this time, in-person training will not be offered to groups of more than two people. All training will be scheduled by appointments only. Walk-In’s will not be accepted.
