Strike Force 311
Strike Force 311
A County-Wide Commitment to Cleaner, Elevated Communities
Strike Force 311 was established in June 2025 under the direction of County Executive Aisha N. Braveboy to address a backlog of more than 27,000 PGC311 service requests, some of which had remained unresolved for up to 489 days. The initiative was created to fulfill the County Executive's commitment to beautifying County communities, neighborhoods, and public spaces. What started as an initiative to clear that backlog has since grown into one of the County's most visible commitments to community elevation.
A Multi-Agency Collaboration
Strike Force 311 operates as a multi-agency task force comprising the Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement (DPIE), the Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T), the Department of the Environment (DoE), the Prince George's County Revenue Authority (RVA), the Office of Community Relations and PGC311, the Office of Emergency Management, County Stat, the Office of Information Technology, and additional County agencies as required. This interagency collaboration reinforces County Executive Braveboy's core priority of a Unified Government.
Phase I: Rapid Response and Real Results
The objective of Phase I was to reduce the outstanding service request backlog by approximately 50 percent, or roughly 13,300 requests, within 60 days. The task force exceeded this objective within 44 days. Following this achievement, Strike Force 311 supported emergency response operations for snow removal and roadway clearance during Winter Storm Fern.
Phase II: Beautification at Scale
Phase II commenced in March 2026 with an expanded focus on beautification. Under this phase, crews and contractors have been deployed throughout the County to remove litter and debris and to address instances of illegal dumping.
Strike Force 311: A Step Forward
Beautification is a cornerstone of County Executive Aisha Braveboy’s vision for Prince George’s County. Her administration recognizes that clean, vibrant, and well-maintained communities are fundamental to strengthening quality of life, attracting new residents and businesses, and driving long-term economic growth. By prioritizing beautification, the County is making a strategic investment in both neighborhood pride and the County’s economic and environmental future.
What began as a focused effort to eliminate a backlog of service requests has evolved into a permanent County initiative. Today, Strike Force 311 operates year-round with a dedicated mission to enhance the cleanliness, appearance, and overall quality of communities across Prince George’s County. The task force conducts operations seven days a week, including weekly Beautification Blitzes every Saturday, demonstrating the administration’s ongoing commitment to creating cleaner, safer, and more welcoming neighborhoods for all residents.
