Project Elevate

Project Elevate is an initiative launched on June 23, 2025, by County Executive Aisha N. Braveboy in response to the need for revitalization and beautification efforts throughout Prince George’s County. This initiative relies heavily on the support of our County agencies, particularly the Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T), to ensure the routine maintenance of public areas. This includes tasks such as mowing public medians, trimming overgrown trees that obstruct traffic signs, and managing the accumulation of litter and debris.

“My commitment to cleaning up our county is non-negotiable because beautification for our county and for residents is about much more than the aesthetics of our streets and neighborhoods – it’s a reflection of our values and what county residents and communities deserve,” said County Executive Braveboy.

“I made a promise to them to prioritize clean, well-maintained communities, and there’s no better time to kick off this initiative than right now!”

What are the main focuses of Project Elevate?

  • Tree Trimming
  • Stump Removal
  • Small Potholes
  • Litter and Debris Collection
  • Abandoned Vehicles
  • And other nuisances and abatement issues

In the first 100 days of the Braveboy Administration we launched Strike Force 311 to address the backlog of 311 complaints in the County using agencies, partners, and County contractors. Strike Force 311 will operate seven days a week over the next 60 days, coordinating efforts with County agencies such as the Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) and the Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement (DPIE) to tackle 13,345 aged service requests classified as nuisance abatement complaints. County Executive Braveboy said combined, there are more than 7,000 open cases between the two agencies, a pattern that will end under the Braveboy Administration.
