Community Meetings

DPW&T enjoys being out in the community. Every year, DPW&T participates in scores of H.O.A., civic association, and community meetings, sharing information about the Department and answering citizens’ questions.

Growing Green With Pride

Each spring and fall, the county hosts a countywide community cleaning program. This event supports our initiative to make our community cleaner and greener by conducting individual community plantings and coordinating beautification activities throughout the county.

The Prince George's County Beautification Awards, a product of the County's Beautification Committee, celebrates people who help shape the County's aesthetic through landscaping and gardening.

Right Tree, Right Place Program

DPW&T partners with the Neighborhood Design Center for the Right Tree, Right Place Program. The program focuses on removing diseased, dying, and/or hazardous street trees in communities, and replacing them with trees built to thrive in a street tree environment.

Snow & Ice Control

When a snow emergency is declared, the Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) is responsible for providing “passable” conditions on a network of more than 1,900 miles of county-maintained roadways to ensure the safety of residents, citizens, and travelers.
