Out-of-Home Care & Adoption Services

There are many children in Out-of-Home Care (formally known as Foster Care) that need strong and supportive families. We are always looking for permanent homes for county youth.

What is Out-of-Home Care?

Out-of-Home Care is setup to give temporary care for children in need of help. In most cases, children are placed in Out-of-Home Care by child welfare agencies. Children can also be voluntarily placed when circumstances, such as serious illness, prevent their parents from caring for them. Families wishing to adopt a child may serve as resource (foster) parents for them until the adoption is complete.

What is Adoption?

Adoption is to legally take on the role of parent for a child who is not your biological child. Adopted children become full members of the adopting household. Adoption can bring a positive end to a challenging situation. It also offers benefits to everyone involved. Support services are available for families after the adoption is complete.
