May 17 – May 23, 2026, is National Public Works Week, and this year’s theme, “Rooted in Service, Powered by Community,” reflects our commitment to public service and the vital relationship with Prince George’s County residents that strengthens our work every day. From maintaining safe roads, managing traffic operations, and delivering transportation services, to leading litter reduction, storm drain maintenance, and snow removal efforts, DPW&T is committed to ELEVATING clean, safe, and connected communities. Our dedicated team of professionals work around-the-clock – often behind the scenes – to ensure that infrastructure functions efficiently and neighborhoods remain accessible and vibrant.

During National Public Works Week, we proudly join communities across the country to celebrate and recognize the essential role public works plays in advancing quality of life. Sponsored by the American Public Works Association, this annual observance recognizes the employees who plan, design, build, operate, and maintain the systems that support our communities. At DPW&T, Public Works Week is an opportunity to highlight the skill, dedication, and public service commitment of our workforce, and to thank them for keeping Prince George’s County moving forward.
