The Safe Summer Kick-off is a community event celebrating the launch of the Safer Stronger Together initiative (SST) in Prince George's County. SST is a cross-agency, place-based initiative to invest in young people, strengthen families, empower communities, and improve public safety. The partnership on this initiative is between Maryland's Department of Human Services (DHS), Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS), and Department of Juvenile Services (DJS).SST focuses on the approximately 2,000 Maryland families who interact with more than one of the agencies who often face the greatest challenges. Safer Stronger Together brings Maryland's agencies and communities together to better coordinate support and improve safety.
As a local agency of the Department of Human Services, the Prince George's County Department of Social Services is grateful to be a member of the implementation team supporting the 3 State agencies in bringing SST to Capitol Heights and District Heights families.
