Starting the evening of Thursday, March 15, 2018 until Sunday night, March 18, 2018, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) will start a Metrorail track work maintenance project on the Silver and Blue lines. During this rail maintenance project, WMATA will operate all Silver line trains at 24-minute frequencies from the Wiehle-Reston Station in Virginia to the Largo Town Center Station in Maryland. Rail service on the Orange and Blue lines will operate at near normal frequencies at the New Carrollton Station (Orange).   

However, Blue line trains will be rerouted to the Orange line rail segment after the Stadium-Armory Station in Washington, D.C. instead of continuing on to the Benning Road, Capitol Heights, Addison Road, Morgan Boulevard, and Largo Town Center Stations during this time.  

The Capitol Heights, Addison Road, Morgan Boulevard and Largo Metrorail Stations will still be open with Silver line trains arriving every 24 minutes.  Residents should allow for additional travel time on these Blue line stations or use alternative stations on the Orange and Green lines as appropriate.
