Press Release

UPPER MARLBORO, MD – Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Tara H. Jackson announced today that Jonathan Monge has been convicted of one count of sexual abuse of a minor and two counts of second-degree rape. Monge is a former police officer with the City of Hyattsville Police Department.

“While today’s outcome cannot undo the unimaginable harm this has caused our victim, it reinforces our commitment to safeguarding the most vulnerable in our community, especially our children,” said State’s Attorney Jackson. “Public safety officials hold a position of trust in our community and are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity and respect for the law, both in and out of uniform. Our responsibility is to pursue justice for our victims, and this conviction reflects our commitment to ensuring that justice was served. I want to thank my prosecutors and law enforcement partners for their tireless work on this case, and the jury for their service.”

Monge will be sentenced on July 10, 2026, at 1:30 PM.

Due to the victim’s age and the sensitive nature of this case, no additional details will be released at this time.
