Investigative Unit

Overview

The Investigative Unit is composed of sworn, highly trained law enforcement investigators with full arrest powers.

The unit is responsible for providing executive protection for the elected State’s Attorney, as well as ensuring the safety of witnesses and staff. Investigators also support Assistant State’s Attorneys by conducting case-related investigations and assisting with trial preparation.

In addition, the unit works in close coordination with local law enforcement agencies to locate victims, witnesses, and other individuals for subpoena service.

Specialized Investigations

The Investigative Unit conducts specialized investigations that may fall outside the scope of other agencies. These cases often involve matters such as public integrity, official misconduct, domestic violence, and financial crimes.
