Investigative Unit

Overview

The Investigative Division is made up of sworn, highly trained police investigators with full arrest powers. This team is responsible for executive protection of the elected State’s Attorney, safeguarding witnesses and staff, and providing investigative support to Assistant State’s Attorneys. 

The Division also works closely with local law enforcement to locate victims, witnesses, and others for subpoena service, and to carry out specialized investigations that may not fall under the purview of other agencies. These investigations often involve matters such as public integrity, official misconduct, domestic violence, and financial crimes.
