Back on Track Program
A Second Chance Built on Accountability and Opportunity
Back on Track is a Problem-Solving Court designed to reduce recidivism among first-time, low-level felony offenders in Prince George’s County. Unlike traditional diversion programs, Back on Track requires participants to plead guilty and complete a rigorous 12-to-18-month program as a condition of probation.
Upon successful completion, participants are eligible to have their records expunged, creating a meaningful opportunity for a fresh start.
This program balances accountability, structure, and opportunity to promote long-term stability and public safety.
Program Highlights
Participants engage in a structured, intensive curriculum that includes:
- Community Service
- Mental Health Support
- Education and Industry-Recognized Certifications
- Career Training and Employment Placement
- Leadership Development
The program addresses the root causes of criminal behavior while equipping participants with the tools necessary for long-term success.
“The Back on Track program represents the very best of what justice can be in Prince George’s County. It is a program built on accountability, but equally on hope and opportunity.”
- Tara H. Jackson, Prince George's County State's Attorney
