Community Affairs
Overview
Community Outreach is grounded in the belief that public safety extends beyond prosecution. While the State’s Attorney’s Office holds individuals accountable for criminal conduct, it also works to prevent crime, address root causes, and strengthen trust across Prince George’s County.
The Community Outreach Unit partners with residents, schools, businesses, faith-based organizations, and community groups to proactively address public safety concerns before they escalate.
Our Commitment
Our work is guided by integrity, transparency, and a commitment to fairness. We make decisions based on law and evidence, recognizing that true public safety requires prevention, collaboration, and strong community partnerships.
Community Programs & Initiatives
The Office supports programs that promote accountability, intervention, and long-term success, including:
- Back on Track – A reentry-focused program supporting individuals returning to the community
- R.I.S.E. Truancy Program – An initiative focused on improving school attendance and reducing youth system involvement
- Problem-Solving Courts – Specialized courts that prioritize rehabilitation and sustainable outcomes
- Frauds & Scam Prevention - – Educational outreach and resources to help residents identify, avoid, and report financial scams and fraudulent activity
