“A celebration meant for joy and family turned into a scene of devastation, leaving one woman dead and many others injured, including children,” says State’s Attorney Jackson. “Today, the judge granted the State's request to hold the defendant without bond, which we find appropriate given the seriousness of this case and his attempt to flee the scene after the accident. Our office remains committed to pursuing justice for Ms. Gutierrez and her loved ones, and all those impacted by this terrible incident. The next hearing date is scheduled for January 30, 2026.”
