State's Attorney Announces Sentence for Teen who Plead Guilty in Murder of Mentor
UPPER MARLBORO, MD – Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Tara Jackson has announced that 19-year-old Raymond C. Terry III has been sentenced to 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence in the shooting death of 26-year-old Vincent Fisher III.
In February 2025, Terry fatally shot Fisher from the backseat of Fisher’s car in Landover, Maryland. A surviving victim was also in the car during the shooting but was not injured.
“This case is especially heartbreaking because the victim saw potential in the defendant and tried to guide him toward a better path,” said State’s Attorney Jackson. “Instead, that trust and mentorship were met with unimaginable violence. Today’s sentence reflects the gravity of this betrayal and the devastating loss suffered by Mr. Fisher’s family and our community. We are grateful to the prosecutors and law enforcement professionals who worked tirelessly on this case. My office remains committed to seeking justice for those whose lives are taken by senseless acts of violence.”
