State’s Attorney Announces Sentence in Fatal Marlboro Pike Crash That Killed 31-Year-Old Woman
UPPER MARLBORO, MD – Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Tara Jackson announced today that 32-year-old LaTyre Moore has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, suspending all but 5 years, and 5 years of supervised probation, after being convicted of motor vehicle manslaughter related to the death of 31-year-old Erika Boykin.
In January 2025, Moore was driving on Marlboro Pike near Walters Lane when she lost control of her vehicle and went airborne. Boykin was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Moore was intoxicated and identified herself as the passenger, maintaining that she was not the driver until the investigation revealed she was, in fact, the driver of the vehicle.
“This was a very difficult case,” said State’s Attorney Jackson. “Not only did a young woman lose her life, but the truth about what happened was not immediately forthcoming. Erika and her family deserved the truth, and as prosecutors, we have a responsibility to make sure the truth is established. Today’s sentence holds this defendant accountable for the choices that led to Erika’s death. I want to thank our law enforcement partners and prosecutors who remained committed to pursuing justice for Erika and her family.”
