How Allowances Are Configured


Utility allowances are developed by unit size and type of fuel used in apartments and condominiums, townhouses, and single family dwellings. Housing Authorities are required to review utility allowances annually and revise them when there is a change of 10% in utility fees. The utility allowance is always based on the actual size of the unit, regardless of the Voucher size.
