Jonathan R. Butler

Jonathan R. Butler is a results-driven executive with extensive leadership experience across commercial, federal, and state and local organizations. He brings a strong record of transforming operations, managing complex portfolios, and advancing mission-critical programs that strengthen communities and public institutions.

Mr. Butler currently serves as Director for the Prince George’s County Department of Housing & Community Development. Prior to this role, he was the Director of the Prince George’s County Office of Central Services, one of the County’s largest agencies. In that capacity, he oversaw a broad portfolio including land use, property and lease management, real estate services, capital construction, facilities operations, contracting and procurement, fleet management, general services, and small, local, and minority business development.

Previously, Mr. Butler was the Chief Business Officer for the District of Columbia Public Library, where he translated strategy into action, connecting big-picture goals with daily operations, and ensuring the Nation’s Capital’s public library system was positioned for sustainable success. 

His prior public-sector leadership also includes serving as Director of Contracts for Events DC—the city’s official convention and sports authority that delivers economic impact through the attraction and promotion of business, athletic, entertainment and cultural activities for the National Capital Region . 

Additionally, he served as Director of Contracts for District of Columbia Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning & Economic Development, a government authority responsible for execution of economic development efforts in the District of Columbia with the goal of producing and preserving affordable housing, creating jobs, and increasing tax revenue. 

Mr. Butler’s private-sector experience includes serving as Vice President at Global Commerce Solutions, Inc., and as Principal Contracts Manager with Lockheed Martin Corporation.
