Electronics Recycling Acceptance Site

Effective April 15, 2024, due to ongoing construction, the Electronic Waste and other associated lots at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill, 11611 White House Road in Upper Marlboro, will be closed to the public. Residents will be able to properly dispose of electronics at upcoming mobile events.

 

Electronics Recycling & Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Disposal 

County residents can drop off non-commercial items collected at our Acceptance Sites during County-hosted mobile events from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

*Latex paint is NOT hazardous waste. Please allow paint to dry completely before bagging and placing it in your trash cart. Our HHW Acceptance Site page has more tips.  
 

Before dropping off old phones, computers, or other devices for disposal, please remember:
  • Remove personal files
  • Log out of accounts
  • Perform a factory reset if possible

Non-Commercial Vehicles Only

Prince George's County opened the residential Electronics Recycling Acceptance Site in September 2000. County residents may drop off their used and unwanted electronics at this site free of charge. Businesses may dial PGC311 for more information on electronic recycling.

A maximum of 5 monitors and/or televisions (non-console) per vehicle may be dropped off at the site.

Greener Gadgets is a website on which users can enter their zip code to find a list of the nearest businesses that will accept e-waste at no cost.

Collection for Senior Citizens & the Disabled

As of June 2022, at-home electronic waste collection is no longer available. However, individuals may utilize the drop-off convenience centers or dispose of items at mobile events.
