Emergency Services
The Emergency Assistance Program offers resources to residents with dependent children under 21 who are facing immediate crises, including eviction notices, mortgage foreclosures, utility shutoffs, and delinquent water bills. For more information, visit mydhrbenefits.dhr.state.md.us
Crisis Assistance Program
The Crisis Assistance unit provides housing stabilization assistance to help residents avoid evictions, foreclosures, and housing-related crises. To determine eligibility, call 211 for a telephonic screening.

Housing Initiative Partnership, Inc (HIP)
Area of focus: Housing Services
Brief Description: HIP is a HUD-approved Housing Counseling agency. Programs and other related services include:
- Rental Counseling & Eviction Prevention
- Homebuyer Education
- Pre-purchase counseling
- Foreclosure Prevention Counseling
- Financial Capability Coaching
- Rapid Rehousing & Housing Stability Services

Housing Options & Planning Enterprises, Inc. (H.O.P.E.)
Area of focus: Housing and housing related services
Brief Description: A HUD certified housing counseling agency that offers monthly post-purchase and pre-purchase homebuying education seminars, one-on-one pre-purchase counseling, rental counseling, and foreclosure counseling, financial counseling and coaching. H.O.P.E also offers facade and home improvement for low-to moderate income homeowners.
H.O.P.E also offers aging in place and wraparound services for seniors ages 65 and up and USDA 502 Direct packaging for low-income clients as well as housing for low-income seniors and disabled clients in our Section 202/811 HUD units.

The Ladies of Hope Ministries (LOHM)
Areas of focus: Transitional housing, employment connections, and other community resources.
Brief Description: LOHM provides transitional housing for justice-impacted individuals and survivors of domestic violence. LOHM has also successfully connected participants to affordable tax credit units across the DMV to help bridge the gap in affordable housing.
LOHM assists with locating community resources for security deposits and rental arrears, as well as offer employment connections, soft skills development, and work readiness support. LOHM also assists with application fees and unit searches.
The above services are provided Monday–Friday during regular business hours.

Sasha Bruce
Area of focus: Emergency youth shelter and a youth drop-in center in the County.

Emergency Youth Shelter: Promise Place is an emergency youth shelter in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The shelter provides homeless, abandoned, abused, neglected, and runaway youth a compassionate alternative to the dangers of the streets and/or unstable housing. Operated in partnership with the Prince George’s County Department of Social Services, Promise Place is open 24 hours a day and serves up to 20 youth at one time. By providing a safe place to stay and intensive counseling services, Promise Place helps most youth reunite with their families and works to return all young people to stable and safe environments. On-site services include crisis intervention; individual, group, and family counseling; case management, support for shelter graduates, and temporary respite care.

Drop-In Center: Bruce Empowerment Zone (BEZ) is a welcoming hub where youth experiencing homelessness can access basic needs, case management, housing navigation, and supportive services, all in one place. In partnership with the local Continuum of Care, BEZ helps youth take steps toward stability and independence by connecting them with personalized support and community resources.
