Prevailing Construction Wage Rates
Pursuant to Sections 2-247 through 2-253.5 of the Prince George’s County Code, contractors and subcontractors performing covered work are required to pay applicable employees no less than the prevailing wage rates established by the County’s Wage Determination Board. In addition, Section 10A-121 of the Prince George’s County Procurement Code requires applicable solicitations to include the prevailing wage rates established for covered work.
Current prevailing construction wage rates for covered Prince George’s County public works contracts are provided below:
Wage Requirements for Service Contracts (Livable Wage)
Certain County service contracts are subject to the wage requirements established under Section 10A-144 of the Prince George’s County Code. Covered contracts must require contractors and applicable subcontractors to comply with these wage requirements.
The Code also provides specific exceptions for certain contractors under Section 10A-144(b) and certain employees under Section 10A-144(f).

Wage Rate Effective July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027 is $18.10 Per Hour
Wage Rate Effective July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026 is $17.70 Per Hour
Wage Determination Board Overview
The Wage Determination Board establishes and updates prevailing wage rate schedules for covered work in Prince George’s County. To learn more about the Board, its responsibilities, and current wage determinations, visit the Wage Determination Board page.
Contract Compliance Officers
The Wage Determination Board, through its Contract Compliance Officers, monitors compliance with the County’s prevailing wage requirements by conducting on-site inspections of covered construction projects and interviewing workers.
The current prevailing wage rates became effective February 10, 2026.
Wage Complaint Process
Employees of prime contractors and subcontractors performing work on active Prince George’s County contracts may submit a wage complaint regarding the payment of applicable County wage requirements.
Complaints may involve the Livable Wage requirements for covered service contracts or Prevailing Wage requirements for covered construction contracts.
