Divisions
The Office of Procurement is organized into three primary units: the Office of the Director, the Office of Business Services, and the Office of Accountability.
Office of the Director
The Office of the Director provides executive leadership, strategic direction, policy guidance, and administrative oversight for the Office of Procurement. It supports the County Purchasing Agent in carrying out procurement responsibilities established by the Prince George’s County Charter, Subtitle 10A of the County Code, and other applicable laws and regulations.
Office of Business Services
The Office of Business Services administers the County’s purchasing and contracting functions under the authority of the County Purchasing Agent. The Office manages the procurement of supplies, services, construction, and other contractual requirements. It also supports solicitation, evaluation, award, and contract administration activities.
Office of Accountability
The Office of Accountability oversees supplier diversity, business development, and compliance with applicable County contracting requirements. The Office supports the participation of local, County-based, small, and minority business enterprise businesses and monitors compliance with applicable business participation, workforce, wage, and procurement requirements.
Compliance Unit
The Compliance Unit monitors contractor compliance with applicable workforce, wage, subcontracting, and business participation requirements, including the Jobs First Act, Jobs and Opportunity Act, prevailing wage, and livable wage requirements.
Supplier Development & Diversity Division
The Supplier Development & Diversity Division administers County business certification and supplier diversity programs. The Division also provides outreach, education, technical assistance, and supplier development services. It works to increase the participation of local, County-based, small, and minority business enterprise businesses in County procurement and subcontracting opportunities.
