Alice M. Williams serves as the Director and Purchasing Agent for the Prince George’s County Office of Procurement. She was appointed Acting Director on June 18, 2025, and was officially confirmed and sworn in as Director on October 21, 2025. In this role, she leads the County’s centralized procurement operations and is responsible for ensuring transparency, accountability, competition, and compliance in the acquisition of goods, services, and construction projects throughout County government.
Ms. Williams brings more than 40 years of acquisition, contracting, and procurement leadership experience from federal, state, and local government. Prior to joining Prince George’s County, she held senior executive and acquisition leadership positions with the U.S. Department of Defense, the Department of Health and Human Services, and other federal agencies. She is recognized nationally for her expertise in procurement strategy, acquisition policy, small business programs, workforce development, and contract management.
As Director, Ms. Williams has led significant procurement modernization initiatives, expanded opportunities for County-based and small businesses, strengthened contract oversight and compliance programs, and supported the County Executive’s vision of economic growth and operational excellence. Under her leadership, the Office of Procurement has enhanced supplier engagement, increased transparency, and launched innovative programs such as the Supplier Opportunities Access Resources (SOAR) Center to assist local businesses in navigating County contracting opportunities.
