Prince George’s County Executive Aisha N. Braveboy Elevates Summer Youth Enrichment Program Ahead of Summer 2026
LARGO, MD — Prince George’s County Executive Aisha N. Braveboy, in partnership with the Office of Human Resources, is proud to relaunch the County’s Summer Youth Enrichment Program (SYEP), which will provide more than 1,000 young residents with meaningful employment opportunities across government agencies, community organizations, and private-sector partners.
“It is critical that we provide structured, enriching opportunities for our youth during the summer months,” said County Executive Braveboy. “By connecting our young residents with local businesses, community organizations, and County Government, we are exposing them to diverse careers, equipping them with valuable skills, and creating a strong foundation for future workforce success.”
SYEP offers Prince George’s County residents ages 14–24 a six-week structured work experience designed to foster growth, responsibility, and career exploration. Running from July 6 through August 14, 2026. The program aligns with several of the County Executive’s core pillars, including Economic Development, First Class Education, and Public Engagement, by offering paid, hands-on professional experiences.
Through SYEP, participants will develop practical job skills, receive professional development training, explore diverse career pathways, and build lasting networks that support long-term success.
Applications will be accepted from March 1 through March 31, and participants will be selected through a lottery to ensure equitable access to opportunity. Families are encouraged to begin preparing early by assisting youth with resume development, establishing professional communication tools, and identifying career interests.
