LARGO, MD – Prince George’s County Executive Aisha N. Braveboy joined County Council Chair Krystal Oriadha, District 8 Council Member Edward Burroughs III, fellow elected officials, community leaders, advocates, and residents on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, to commemorate National Pride Month and celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community.
The Pride Flag Raising Ceremony brought together elected officials, community leaders, advocates, and residents to celebrate National Pride Month and recognize the contributions of LGBTQIA+ individuals throughout Prince George’s County.
“Prince George’s County is one of the most diverse communities in the DMV,” said County Executive Aisha Braveboy. “Our residents are from different ethnic backgrounds, religions, and orientations. And today, I’m especially proud to stand in solidarity with such a resilient community and to reaffirm my commitment to keeping all our residents safe, seen, and supported.”
The event also highlighted the County’s ongoing efforts to expand access to healthcare and wellness resources. Under County Executive Braveboy’s leadership, Prince George’s County is making strategic investments in healthcare infrastructure, behavioral health services, and community-based support programs to help residents thrive.
“We are elevating healthcare in Prince George’s County,” said County Executive Braveboy. “Our goal is to ensure that residents can receive the quality care they deserve, right here at home. Prince George’s County is an inclusive community, and we are committed to making sure every resident has access to the healthcare, mental health support, and resources they need to live healthy, successful lives.”
