Municipal Hazard Mitigation Training Series
The Office of Homeland Security, Emergency Management Division conducted the Municipality Hazard Mitigation Training Series for the twenty-seven municipalities in Prince George’s County. In-person training events were held on March 23 and April 24, 2026. A virtual session was held on June 11, 2026. The links below provide course content and video recordings that can be used as a refresher for those who attended the training sessions and as onboarding tools for new staff.
Training Objectives
- Learn the benefits of having a hazard mitigation plan (HMP)
- Understand how participation in the County’s HMP can prepare your municipality for future hazard mitigation grant opportunities
- Prepare for future grant opportunities by building the knowledge, tools, and resources to apply for and manage grants
- Learn about hazard mitigation funding, processes, and procedures to access and apply for funding streams
