Fire Safety Education
The Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department wants you to 'Be Safe'. The Fire/EMS Department will visit your home and conduct a free Fire Safety Advisory Inspection. But that's not all! While there, they will install a free smoke detector in your home. To receive your free smoke alarm and fire safety advisory inspection, please complete the Free Smoke Alarm and Fire Safety Advisory Inspection form. For more information, please see the Summer Safety First Section.
- Homeowners with hard-wired smoke alarms will solely be responsible for replacement and installation. Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Dept doesn’t replace or install hard-wired smoke alarms.
NOTE: The landlord or property owner is responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, and replacing smoke alarms required by Maryland Code, Public Safety § 9-106.
