George Nader

Chief George Nader brings an impressive 32 years of law enforcement experience to his role as the Chief of the Prince George’s County Police Department, a position he has held since June 18, 2025. Before this appointment, he served as the Assistant Chief of Police for the Metro Transit Police Department, where he managed daily operations. His tenure at Metro Transit Police also included significant leadership roles as Deputy Chief in both the Administrative Bureau and the Homeland Security, Investigations, and Intelligence Bureau.

Chief Nader’s law enforcement career includes over two decades of service with the Prince George’s County Police Department, where he rose to the rank of Deputy Chief. Throughout his career at PGPD, he held various pivotal positions, including Deputy Chief of the Bureau of Administration and Homeland Security, Deputy Chief of the Bureau of Forensic Science and Intelligence, Commander of District III, Commander of the Training and Education Division, and Commander of Police Personnel.

Academically, Chief Nader earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Management from Johns Hopkins University. He has participated in a range of prestigious leadership training programs, including the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, the Southern Police Institute’s Chief Executive Leadership Course, and the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police. He is also a graduate of the UC Berkeley Executive Education Program, the FBI’s Bomb Commander School, and the FBI National Executive Institute.

In addition to his leadership role, Chief Nader is dedicated to shaping the next generation of law enforcement professionals as an adjunct professor at George Washington University. His vast experience and unwavering commitment to public safety make him an invaluable asset to the Prince George’s County community.
