Ms. Maxene Bardwell is a highly respected executive with over 25 years of leadership in internal audit within financial services, public utility, and government sectors. She holds degrees from Notre Dame of Maryland University and The Ohio State University and is actively involved in professional advancement and public service.
She is the Chairwoman-elect for the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), currently serves on the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts (AICPA) Council, is the Immediate Past President of Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA)-Central Maryland Chapter, is an active member of the board of the Association of Inspectors General and advisor to the Washington Area Women’s Foundation. She is a mentor for the MACPA Mentor Program and winner of the 2021 AICPA Outstanding CPA in Local Government Impact Award.
Ms. Bardwell is recognized for her commitment to ethical leadership, accountability, and professional development. She is well-credentialed as evidenced by her following certifications: Public Accountant, Internal Auditor, Fraud Examiner, Inspector General, Information Systems Auditor, Information Technology Professional, Inspector General Auditor, and Risk Management Assurance. Maxene hails from Connecticut and has been a resident of Prince George’s County for more than 20 years.
