LaTara Harris is a seasoned change agent with over 25 years of experience in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Recently appointed as Chief of Staff to Prince George's County Executive Aisha N. Braveboy, LaTara is recognized as a leader in the Mid-Atlantic region, dedicated to driving transformational change and making a significant impact in the community.
With a strong emphasis on leading teams, enhancing organizational capacity, and fostering revenue growth, LaTara has made lasting contributions to the various organizations she has served. Her expertise in strategic planning, capacity building, and the development of innovative, data-driven policies is instrumental in promoting long-term change. Known for her ability to build coalitions, LaTara’s mission-oriented approach aims to unleash generational benefits, particularly for girls and women.
Having been raised in Prince George's County in a family committed to service, LaTara is deeply invested in her community. She previously held esteemed executive roles, including CEO of Crittenton Services of Greater Washington and Director of External and Legislative Affairs at AT&T, where she worked for over a decade. At Crittenton, she revitalized one of the oldest organizations dedicated to serving teen girls, enhancing its strategy and financial stability.
During her tenure at AT&T, she successfully managed local legislative and regulatory affairs across multiple regions and played a vital role in the company’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives. LaTara’s leadership has been recognized with numerous accolades, including being named one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women by the Maryland Daily Record and receiving the Minority Business Leader Award from the Washington Business Journal.
Other honors include a Leadership Award from the National Congress of Black Women, the Woman Who Leads Bravely Award from the Prince George's State Attorney, and an Impact Award from Women of Color in STEM. LaTara earned her undergraduate degree from Bowie State University and holds an MBA from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
