Devan Martin is a dedicated servant leader whose life is defined by a commitment to community service and spiritual guidance. With a wealth of experience as Deputy Chief of Staff, Pastor, and former Police Chief, Devan has consistently demonstrated his passion for uplifting families and communities.

From an early age, Devan was drawn to service, a calling that has shaped his professional and personal life. As an experienced community organizer and leader, he believes in the power of faith-based initiatives and collaborative engagement to tackle systemic issues affecting families and neighborhoods. His philosophy centers on rejuvenating communities through effective education, empowerment, and outreach.

As an ordained Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Devan’s ministry is deeply rooted in a love for humanity. He currently serves as the Pastor of the Historic Bethel A.M.E. Church in Cambridge, Maryland—affectionately known as Bethel Nation. There, he focuses on winning souls, healing the sick, and spreading the Gospel through the transformative power of the Holy Spirit.

Devan’s extensive experience in public service includes a distinguished tenure as a Police Chief, where he dedicated 15 years to law enforcement and community engagement. His role as Chief of Staff for the Prince George's County Council District 6 further solidified his commitment to public service. Throughout his career, he has been honored with numerous local and national awards for his contributions to law enforcement and community development.

Devan is a proud alumnus of Largo High School and has pursued higher education at Anne Arundel Community College and The George Washington University, where he earned a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Police & Security Studies. He furthered his academic journey with a Master of Divinity from Howard University School of Divinity, where he was recognized as a John Robert Lewis Scholar.

In addition to his professional achievements, Devan is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. He resides in Largo, Prince George’s County, Maryland, with his family, continually dedicated to serving his community and leading with compassion and integrity.
