Chris Osuji

Chris Osuji has been a resident of Prince George’s County, Maryland, for over 30 years. He currently serves as the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Government Operations under the Braveboy Administration. Notably, on March 17, 2003, Mr. Osuji made history by becoming the first African-born individual appointed by the Prince George’s County Executive and confirmed by the County Council to serve as the director of the Office of Community Relations. Mr. Osuji has worked in executive and managerial positions in public and private capacities for over 20 years.
 

Prior to joining Prince George’s County Government, Mr. Osuji worked for Aspen Systems Corporation for nine years. He served as the Director of Community Affairs in the Office of the State’s Attorney for Prince George’s County. In this role, Mr. Osuji acted as a principal advisor to the State’s Attorney on community programs overseen by the division. He directed the community outreach strategy and developed programs aimed at promoting the agency. Additionally, he managed the planning and coordination of outreach initiatives that engaged, supported, and partnered with stakeholders to produce a positive impact on community issues.

Mr. Osuji holds a Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning from Howard University and a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of the District of Columbia. He has years of executive-level experience in managing daily operations and essential functions of agencies. Additionally, he has extensive expertise in policy and program development, project planning and implementation, as well as operational and legislative reviews. Mr. Osuji has a proven track record of effective leadership.
 

His leadership qualities and decision-making skills have been crucial in the way he addresses both challenges and opportunities. He served on the County Executive Transition Team in 2002 and 2025 and is a member of several civic and professional organizations. He has received numerous awards, citations, and recognitions from various governments, organizations, and communities in the DMV area.

Mr. Osuji is a prominent figure in the African community of Prince George's County. He has uplifted many families, helping them build new lives through his unwavering support. His kind-hearted spirit, boundless generosity, and deep devotion to his family define who he is.

Mr. Osuji is married with two adult children.
