Anthony Rease

Anthony N. Rease serves as the Assistant Director of Prince George’s County Office of Homeland Security, where he provides executive leadership and management oversight for four critical divisions: Public Safety Communications, Code Compliance, Administration, and Emergency Management. In this role, he coordinates complex public safety operations, strengthens organizational performance, advances emergency preparedness, and ensures effective collaboration among county agencies and regional partners.

Prince George’s County Executive Aisha N. Braveboy recommended him, and Governor Wes Moore appointed him, reflecting the confidence of both county and state leadership in his experience, integrity, and executive leadership.

Assistant Director Rease brings more than two decades of public-safety leadership experience across law enforcement, emergency management, municipal governance, and inter-agency coordination. In this role, he oversees emergency planning, operational readiness, disaster response coordination, and continuity of government across one of Maryland’s largest and most complex jurisdictions.

Before becoming Assistant Director, Anthony served as Chief of Police for the Town of Forest Heights, where he led one of the region's most technologically advanced municipal police departments. Under his leadership, the department implemented real-time crime center operations, license plate recognition systems, unmanned aerial systems (drones), and modernized investigative and patrol strategies that significantly improved crime-fighting and accountability.

Assistant Director Rease also served as President of the Minority Chiefs Alliance of Maryland, where he represented and advocated for minority law-enforcement executives statewide, strengthened partnerships with state and federal agencies, and promoted best practices in leadership, accountability, and community-centered policing.

Assistant Director Rease earned his bachelor’s degree from Liberty University, graduating with honors. He is also a graduate of the FBI-LEEDA Executive Leadership Institute and has completed advanced professional leadership studies through Northwestern University.

Throughout his career, Assistant Director Rease has been recognized for his ability to build high-functioning teams, secure and manage complex grants, and align technology, policy, and people to achieve measurable public-safety outcomes. He is known for his strategic, data-driven approach and his ability to bring together county agencies, municipalities, state partners, and federal stakeholders into a unified operational posture during emergencies.
