Primary Objective

The agency's primary objective is to decrease the number of blighted commercial and residential structures within a 1/2-mile radius of existing transit centers and improve the quality of life for the residents of Prince George's County.

Strategies

The strategies to accomplish this objective include:

  • Acquisition of vacant and underutilized commercial and residential properties for development in targeted areas.
  • Ensuring that financing is secured for all projects.
  • Obtaining required approvals for all development plans.
  • Partnering with non-profit and for-profit entities.

By facilitating catalytic economic development and expanding the County's tax base, the Redevelopment Authority partners with non-profit, for-profit, and other governmental entities in its efforts to preserve and stabilize the County's neighborhoods.
